26/10/98 Beer at the "Salone del Gusto".

This food expo, which will take place in Turin from 5 to 9 November, will feature a few beer events (lectures, workshops, tastings), some with the partecipation of US homebrew guru Charlie Papazian.
Unluckily I was not able to give this news before, and booking to "special events" seems to be out of time after October 20.

13/10/98 Iª "Birra Mia" in Desio (MI)

This beer event, organized and sponsored by Enopassione and Mr. Malt (well known italian homebrewing retailer) has been held in Desio on 11/10/98 with a program similar to the one of Birrissima held in Udine.
The "beer day" was as scheduled in the program (in italian) with the exception of the Kit beer demonstration. The attendance (wich included myself and some friends of the italian beer newsgroup) was only about a dozen people, and that made possible a close and active partecipation both to the practical brewing demonstration and to the techinical speeches and debates. (it was taken into account the brewing experience of most of the attendance).
It has been a very interesting beer event and we are looking forward to others; I will keep you informed in this page.

23/9/98 Samichlaus: The End!

This classic strong lager (14% abv) was brewed once a year on the day of S.Niclaus (December 6) to be released the same day one year later, after a long maturation, to be drunk during Christmas... (well, not only during Christmas!)
According to an english mailing-list and site (the news is not recent, it is dated July 98) on Dec 97 this beer was not brewed, and further production is not planned any more by Hurlimann...

Max Beer site, the one you are reading right now, has been on Panorama n. 30 of 30 July (not available any more, I just could find a copy!).
It is featured in an article about beer and microbreweries, with its URL and a (small) photo of the main page.
